Clutter Impacts Your Life and How Feng Shui Can Help

Understand how clutter is blocking your way to success and your future “I don’t have clutter. I just have a lot of things that are important to me.” “This stuff isn’t clutter. They hold a lot of memories for me.” “Clutter is useless stuff. These are my valuable collections.” If this is you, you might be in denial. You probably won’t benefit from finishing this article. But if you identify with some of this, and are willing to make a change, then keep reading. Clutter is a hot topic, now more than ever. Several popular home television shows are dedicated to clearing out clutter. And, just look around you. If your home is the typical American home, you have lots of new “things” from the Holidays. If you haven’t removed some old items, you now have more. Living in a materialistic culture, we know how to accumulate things. But few understand the power of this accumulation – and it’s not good!

Clutter stops the flow of energy

According to Karen Kingston, author of Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui, “Any kind of clutter creates an obstacle to the smooth flow of energy around a space. This in turn creates stuckness and/or confusion in the lives of the occupants.” I often speak with potential clients are looking to enhance their career, finances, family relationships or romantic prospects. They are looking for Feng Shui to provide the catalyst into whatever desires they have. But, oftentimes, these same people have clutter issues that only become apparent in our interview process or perhaps during the consultation. Clutter has such a significant impact to the flow of energy in  space, that removing the clutter can often be the “Feng Shui cure”. Other Feng Shui enhancements help move them in the right direction, but the removal of clutter is essential.
