Question:
Hi Maureen,
I have a feng shui question that I thought I should run by you.... After all the change I have made, they have been very helpful, and I do not want to add anything negative to my home and property. Now I have an older dog who is getting near the end of her life, she is a pug, our most loved dog of all, and has been wonderful to our family and friends. if I were to bury her on my property, is there a feng shui consideration to take? I have never done this with any other animal (except a parakeet) and I hesitate to do even consider to do this without asking you.
Thanks, Carol
Response:
Carol,
I am very sorry to hear that. Having a dog and two cats of my own and several others in the past, I understand how important they are in our lives and how much love we share with them.
Interestingly, I have never had a client ask me this question and I’m glad you did!
I personally feel that it's totally appropriate to bury a beloved pet in your yard. There probably isn’t any particular area that is better than another, but the Family gua came to mind first. This gua represents all that has come before, as in Ancestors. To locate this gua, it would be to the left of the house while standing at the curb, in the side yard. See the bagua map.
However, I feel that you can place her really anywhere in the backyard. I know you’ll make it a beautiful with your flowers.
I have our other two cats in our backyard. One in Family and one in Wealth and we honor their spaces whenever we are around those areas.
With sympathy.
Warmly,
Maureen
