Water loves stillness and contemplation. She provides inner reflection, taking time to replenish your energy, and ample time for sleep and dreams. She provides a base for a feeling of security and an ability to process fear from the past, present or future. Balancing the Water Element is crucial in our lives, to help us restore our energy and feel nourished and supported.
She is independent and prefers to work alone, on her own clock. She has the imagination and capacity to incubate ideas, waiting to emerge from the ground when the timing is right. She is playful and creative, although deep and mysterious. She refreshes us with life and provides the space for chi to flow.
What to Include
To support and nurture your Water at home, make sure that you have both the Metal and Water Elements:
- Metal – metal objects, white and gray in your décor, or fabrics with a silvery sheen to them.
- Water – water fountain, mirrors, glass, blue and black, and images of bodies of water. Carry or wear these crystals: Iolite or Ussingite.
What to Avoid
Make sure your home doesn’t have too much Wood and Earth, which can drain you and cause conflict:
- Wood – plants, images of flowers and trees, color green, wood-based fabrics (like cotton and burlap) and wood furnishings.
- Earth – crystals, stone such as granite and slate, earth tones (brown, beige), and ceramics, pottery
