At $7.5 million the asking price is above its assessed value. So is it worth it, feng shui-wise? Will the residents here prosper?
Yes, I believe so! Here is why:
► The floor plan has a symmetrical layout, nearly a square-shape, which is provides familiarity and calmness to the inhabitants.
► The ceilings are "human-scale" which allows inhabitants to feel cozy and safe. A vaulted ceiling in the center of the floor plan provides a welcome uplifting feeling for the dining area, allowing lots of extra sunlight into the space.
► The recent renovation brings lots of nature indoors:
- The Wood element is represented by the live plants, wood flooring and cherrywood millwork throughout
- The Fire element is illustrated by red furnishings, the beautiful fireplace, abundant natural light and elegant lighting fixtures
- The Earth element is represented by the abundance of stone and slate in the fireplace, counters and flooring
- The Metal element is present through the white walls and gorgeous high-end fixtures
- The Water element is present in a Japanese soaking tub, a great way to provide the nourishment of water in an urban lifestyle
► Finally, the lush, Japanese Zen-like gardens counterbalance and camouflage the urban environment surrounding the home.
The only thing that I would hope for is that the renovation used sustainable products and incorporates alternative energy sources. They didn't mention that in the listing.
And if there's something that I could say against it, it would be that the placement of the two staircases can be challenging. Present in both the Wealth area (master bedroom) and the Career area. Stairs can create challenges in those areas, leading to instability. I would incorporate stone into their structure to create a stable environment. Also, it can be challenging to live on so many levels and the fact that there are four - four is inauspicious in Chinese folklore.

And here is a wonderful article on 100 Cool Things to do in NYC! I would really love links to all the listings, but it's simple enough to search. I especially love some of the great places in Brooklyn to visit. I'll be going there soon!
