You’re considering a house that has a water tower in the backyard. The house has everything you want, the school is good, the block is quiet, and the price is right. What does feng shui say about it?
At the most basic level, feng shui has helped people, for thousands of years, to discern the goodness of the building or land in providing a good life. The feng shui of the land is most vital to that goodness.
So, where we decide to take root, build a home, is the most important part of your success and well being in life. Since land is not as abundant as it once was, and less than idyllic areas are being developed, we need to use discernment to get the best location for our budget.
First, let me ask you: what is your initial reaction to the water tower? I bet, like most, you probably feel a bit of shock when you first see it. I think, for most, the structure feels like a monster in the yard.
However, your reasoning says that you’ll get used to it. And you are right; you probably will on a conscious level. However, on a subconscious level, you are continually feeling threatened or attacked by it.
Oftentimes, negative influences, that once felt insurmountable, fall to the background. For instance, take noise. When you first move into an apartment in the city, after living your entire life in the suburbs, the sound of the city keeps you awake every night. However, after a certain amount of time you eventually get used to it. So logically you think that the sound no longer effects you. But many studies has proven that these negative influences have a continual impact on your health and well being.
Second, there is a continual threat, although it may not be logical, that the tower could explode and destroy your home. Again, this is a subconscious threat and not felt in your daily life.
And, unfortunately, like most negative influences, we cannot just add a feng shui cure to make that tower disappear. It is there, in a big way, effecting your life, your feeling of peace and calm, and your health on a daily basis.
So, no, do not buy that house!
