Anyone who knows me well, knows that I love to hug my trees. And not just my trees, but any tree that seems to “call” to me. Come on now, don’t tell me that you never hugged a tree when you were a kid?
I’ve never needed science to prove the powerful effects of tree hugging. The ancient Japanese have their practice of Shinrin yoku or forest bathing, and they still practice it today. But many people still need the reassurance from the scientific community in order to feel that something is worthy of their time.
Well, if your not a tree hugger, good news! You don’t need to actually hug trees to get the benefit. Just being around them will improve your health and well-being!
